Where has the year of 2017 gone? We can’t speak for everybody but that’s definitely how we feel here. The holidays to-do lists have begun (or at least have probably been thought about) and seem to get longer and longer each year. Recognition of an employee who has significantly contributed to the overall success of Astra Bank; that is the mission of the Shining Star program. This award is given out on a quarterly basis to an employee who has gone above and beyond the call of duty in their day-to-day work. They are also nominated by their fellow peers.

The smell of hamburgers and hot dogs on an open flame is good, well, just about any time. And grilling said food in preparation of a good football games makes it even that much better. But what really puts the cherry on top is when you can have a freewill donation cookout that benefits a school in your community. In conjunction with the fine folks at TMP-Marian, the cookout was held prior to the football game against Cimarron on September 29^th at Lewis Field.

Summer is long gone and school has been in session for over a month now. Football games and other high school fall sports are well underway. With sports usually comes an abundant amount of school spirit from parents, students, and faculty. While there are many ways to show your school spirit, there aren’t many ways you can do that and give back to your school as well. Astra Bank is pleased to announce the addition of Jessie Linn and Lynn Dejmal to their team! Jessie will serve as a Lending Assistant II, while Lynn will hold the position of VP Commercial Loan Officer. They will both be working in our Abilene location and bring many years of experience in the banking industry with them.
